CONDITIONS OF HIRE

Charges
Charges are set annually by the Minister and apply on the date of hiring.  All charges are subject to GST (10%). You may be sharing the facility with another hirer. There is an exclusive use rate if this is required.

Cancellation by the Hirer
A hirer may cancel a booking by giving written or verbal notice to the Principal.
The booking fee is a non-refundable deposit and refunds will not be given.

Cancellation by the Principal at Birrigai
Whenever, in the opinion of the Principal, Birrigai will be unfit for use during the hiring period:

• The Principal may refuse or cancel a booking or hiring.
• The deposit will be refunded.
• Birrgai or the Principal will not be liable in respect of any damage sustained as a result of the cancellation by the Principal through circumstances beyond their control.

Catering
The hirer is required to notify Birrigai of the menu selection two weeks prior to the commencement of the hiring period. Special catering arrangements, if required, may be negotiated.

Service Faults
If a failure or fault occurs in the mechanical, electrical, lighting or heating systems of Birrigai, Birrigai or the Principal will not be liable for any loss or damaged occasioned thereby.

Interpretation of Terms:

• “Department” means ACT Department of Education and Training.
• “Principal” includes any duly authorised officer of the Department.
• “Minister” means the Minister in charge of relevant legislation.
