Sciences
The College offers Sciences as A and T courses, and also the vocational Science-based program, Pre-Med, as an R course. Students also have the opportunity to participate in extra curricular science activities.
Biology (T/A)
This course covers plant, animal, ecological and human biology. The combination of units offered gives students a broad overview of Biology in Year 11 with the opportunity to
specialise in Environmental or Human Biology in Year 12.
Chemistry (T)
This course is designed to provide a general background in Chemistry and will provide the necessary basis for those students intending to study a science-based discipline at a Tertiary level, or to enter a science-based occupation.
Horticulture (A)
Students who complete this course will have the skills to care for plants and have a working knowledge of plant propagation techniques and landscape design and construction.
Physics (T)
This course is designed to provide a general background to the study of Physics and will provide the necessary basis for those students intending to study a science-based discipline at a Tertiary level, or to enter a science-based occupation.
Science (A)
This course explores the importance of Science in our everyday lives and has an integrated
approach to learning incorporating aspects of IT, Media, English, Mathematics, Art,
History, Food Science and Physical Education.
Pre-Med (R)
This course is being offered to help prepare students for careers in the health professions. These include careers in Nursing, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, Physiotherapy and many others.
Additional Science Activities
Students also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular Science activities. They will gain credit for these as R units. Further information on these activities is
available by contacting staff in the Science faculty.

Information Technology offers courses at both A and T level. Both courses have a Vocational component for students who wish to leave college with a Certificate I or Certificate II in Information Technology nationally recognised qualifications.
Information Technology (T/V)
Programming Stream
The aim of this course is to provide a background in computing and computer related fields for students wishing to pursue IT studies at tertiary level. Problem-solving abilities and strategies will be developed in conjunction with suitable high level languages.
Applications Stream
This course is a practical study of the ways in which IT can be used, as a tool, in the solution of problems in many areas of contemporary society. It focuses on the
selection of appropriate software to meet particular needs, and the development of skills and knowledge in the use of a variety of software applications.
Media Stream
This course is a practical study of the ways in which IT can be used, as a tool, in the solution of multimedia problems in many areas of contemporary society. It focuses on
the visual - graphics, animation and web page design, including the development of skills and knowledge in the use of a variety of software applications.
Stream CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
This stream can lead to a vendor certificate in computer networking. It is completed as an online course, through our college Intranet. The course consists of four semesters of study leading to the CCNA certificate.
Computer Operations (A/V)
This course is a practical study of the ways in which computers can be used in many areas of contemporary society. It focuses on the selection of appropriate software to meet particular needs, and the development of skills and knowledge in the use of a variety of software applications.
