CCCares

The Canberra College, in partnership with ACTDET, CYCLOPS, ACT Health and significant community agencies, provides an educational and support program for young carers and pregnant and parenting students in the ACT and surrounding districts. The program called Canberra College Cares (CCCares) is an extension of the current Eclipse & Stay programs, alternative education for students aged 14-21 years, which have successfully operated on the Weston Campus for the past several years.

Canberra College Cares (CCCares), jointly funded by ACT DET and the Community Inclusion Fund, provides a best practice model for young people to access education in the ACT. CCCares offers access to Year 10 and Year 12 certification, goal oriented learning packages, on-line learning and employability skills within a mainstream ACT Government College context, with partnership support from significant community agency groups.

CCCares works to improve literacy, numeracy and IT skills, and to develop an awareness of local and global issues. Our service delivery uses individual learning programs and student Pathways plans with a case management approach.
