Canberra College Drama

Canberra College Drama is proud to present two shows this semester on November 18, 19, 20 and 21 at the Asgard theatre Canberra College Launceston St Phillip they are:
 
Avą’s Gra – a group devised student directed (Hannah B and Jordan R) theatre in education production which after the season will be adapted early next year for performances at Carclew Youth Arts centre during the Adelaide Fringe in 2009.
 
Set in the 1850's Ava's Grį is an epic story of Irish Immigration to South Australia and then onto the Victorian Goldfields.  Based on historical facts the dramatic and humorous story tells of Ava and her sisters’ journey through adversity in a time when an Irish accent could be a liability.
The play is suitable for senior primary and high school students
 
Then after Avą’s Gra at 9 pm
 
Georg Büchner’s classic  WOYZECK (By special arrangement with Dominie Pty Ltd)
 
Written in 1836 WOYZECK is the story of Franz Woyzeck, a lowly soldier, and the father of a child by his mistress Marie. Woyzeck earns extra money by performing menial jobs for the Captain and agreeing to take part in medical experiments conducted by the Doctor, including one where must eat nothing but peas. Woyzeck's mental health begins to break down and he begins to experience a series of apocalyptic visions. Meanwhile, Marie grows tired of Woyzeck and turns her attentions to ………

  • 29 April - Online applications go live.                                                         
  • 20 June - Online applications close at midnight.
  • 25 July - Offers of placement despatched by colleges
  • 08 August - Students advise colleges of acceptance of placement
  • 15 August - Deadline for review of placement
  • 12 September Appeals close.
