PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Parents, Carers Children and Friends,

My vision for Forrest Primary School is of a dynamic and harmonious learning environment.  A place where children are respected as growing and learning persons who are given every opportunity to develop their intelligences and talents, where their whole personality is nurtured; a place where teachers and support staff enhance their own professional and personal growth through meaningful professional development and through their teaching and management experiences; a place where parents participate in their children’s growth and development at interview and reporting times as well as at parent information sessions, involvement in special events and in class activities.

It is during the primary school years that children are most physically active and most dependent on their parents and teachers.  It is the time when they are the most influenced by their teachers and school events.  Consequently it is incumbent on educators, indeed our greatest responsibility, to ensure that the primary years are successful, enjoyable and peppered with delightful and magical experiences

Teachers are the greatest and most valuable school resource. It is teachers, not schools, but individual teachers that make a greater difference to student learning and development than socio-economic background. I strive to inspire teachers both personally and professionally so that with fire in their bellies they enliven and empower and enlighten their students.

While it is my responsibility, as Principal, to manage effectively every aspect of the school I consider the greatest and most important responsibility to be leading my staff into the realisation of my vision for the enduring benefit of the children in our care.

I invite you to work with me in this great venture,

Paul Henryon
