PASTORAL CARE AND STUDENT PATHWAYS
Being a smaller college Copland College has close contact with all students in their pastoral care and student welfare support. The Student Services team provide ongoing support to students through a detailed Tutor group model. Tutor teachers maintain contact with parents and students to resolve problems as they arise. Careers counselling is provided and a school counsellor is available for students.
The pastoral care model is designed to support students in their academic progress through monitoring course packages, progress in classes and attendance.
Student pathways will be linked to curriculum delivery in the first instance, as an integrated component in classes. Pastoral care arrangements will also be used to support students on pathways where needed.
Copland College aims to support students individually and address the needs of all students so they can leave the college with their chosen career within reach.
